Learn how to bead around a chain link with crystals to create these stunning earrings.

The cost of the class is $10.00.
The cost of the earring kit is $15.00.

The kit will include:
2-Chain links.
20-3mm crystal bicones.
Size 11 seed beads.
Size 15 seed beads to match the 11/0 seed beads.
Size 15 gold/or silver seed beads.
1 pair of earring wires.

Our class for this meeting will be a Beaded Rivoli Pendant captured inside of a peyote stitch bezel.

Supplies needed:

1201 14mm Rivoli
Size 11 Delicas beads
Size 15 seed beads in two contrasting colors
For more of a sparkle use size 15 one-cut metal seed beads in silver or gold as a contrasting color.
Size 12 beading needle
Nymo thread or Fireline 6lb preferred.

Cost of the class will be $10.
Limited kits will be available for $12.00 to $15.00 depending on the type of beads used.
Necklace chains will not be included in the kit.

Metal Etching Class

The class size is limited due to the time it takes for the etching process and the quantity of pieces to be etched.

All the spaces have been reserved for this class.

The cost of the class is $45.00 per person.

Supplies are included in the cost of the class.
Each person will get 4 different sizes of Vintaj Brass to etch.
1-34mm circle
1-25mm circle
1-32 x 18mm Retangle
1-22 x 13 retangle or 1-20mm square (which ever one got put in the package)
1-retangle piece of copper.

The supplies and materials need to etch, stamp and patina the metal will be provided.
Those who attend are encouraged to bring any rubber stamps they have to use or share. Smaller stamps or stamps with patterns and leaves work best.

The class size is limited due to the time it takes for the etching process and the quantity of pieces to etch. The process and materials used for etching will be discussed. Demonstration will include how to use a dappling block to dome a circle. How to stamp letters on the metal and how to achieve different effects with patina.

(1 light color-1 dark color).
1 dark color of size 8 seeds
to match one the dark size 11 seed beads.
3-4mm crystals.
1 toggle clasp.
Size 12 beading needle.
Fireline or Nymo beading thread.

Cost of the class will be $10. This will include instructions on how to create both the St. Peterburg chain and the pattern to make the double St. Peterburg bracelet

At our next meeting we will create a name tag using freeform peyote taught by Beverly Herman. We will discuss different option for turning your name tag into a pin or making it into a necklace.

An assortment of beads ranging from seed beads 11/0’s, 8/0's, triangle beads, cube beads, flat square beads, small pearls, 4mm crystals or any kind of accent beads. Option: Select beads in the same color in different shapes. Pick contrasting colors to go with them.

Aleene’s 7800 craft glue or E6000 glue.
Small piece of Ultra Suede or felt for the backing.
Small hole punch to attach a necklace strap or pin back for a pin.

Cost of the class will be $12.00 which will include instructions and a name tag.

Our class project this month will be a brick stitch motif bracelet taught by Beverly Herman. We will explore the brick stitch technique with a demonstration in increasing and decreasing. We learn how to use the brick stitch to make motiffs to create this bracelet.

The subject for bead society meeting this month "Odd and Even Peyote Tips and Techniques". We will talk about the different between even and odd peyote and how to get started.
Our project after the discussion will a peyote band heart ring.

Supplies needed:
Delica size 11 beads
Red
Black
Lt Bronze or Gold

Size 12 beading needle
Size D nymo thread

Instructions and pattern cost $5.00
If you need a kit for a ring please let me and I will put one together for you. Kit fee $3.00.

Our project for December will be beaded snowflakes taught by Beverly Herman. The cost of the class is $10.00.

These snowflakes measure 1-1/4 inches. They are perfect for earrings. They can also be used as ornaments.

I stopped by to talk to the new owners on Monday. (Grand Opening day) They are unwilling to commit the 3rd Saturday of the month. I am looking for help with finding a new place to have our meetings. March Meeting Cancelled

Due to circumstances beyond our control our meeting for Saturday March 17th has been cancelled. I received a call from the new owners of the coffee house this morning. They are renovating and will not be done by Saturday.

The third Saturday of April falls on the weekend of the Intergalctic Bead Show at the VFW. See the link on the sidebar for more information about the show.

Christmas Party December 2006

A special thanks to Jean for hosting our Christmas party this year.
We shared a wonderful meal. Wade made a roast and everyone brought a dish to pass. The bead exchange was a sucess and everyone won a gift with the games we played.

Supplies needed:
Approx. 30 - 6 mm crystals (will make a 7-1/2" to 8" bracelet)
A small amount of contrasting size 11 seed beads
Toggle Clasp
Size 12 needle
Nymo or Fireline thread
The cost of the class: $5.00.

In place of kits, Jean will bring a variety of 6 mm crystals and hanks of size 11 seed beads so you can choose your own colors. The 6 mm crystal strands are approximately $3.00 and average about 50 to a strand. The hanks are $4.00. One hank has approximately 1,200 beads. Jean will also have a small assortment of findings which include toggle and lobster claw clasps.

Discount: A 10% discount to all Bead Society Members.

In the news:
David Fitzwater who donated the cabs for our last meeting suffered a minor stroke at the end of the Janaury. He is doing well and recovering at home. If you would like to send him a thank you or get well wishes I will bring his mailing address to the meeting. Or you can email him.
Sally Forschein is home recovering from a broken leg. She is doing well and looking forward to getting out of the house for our next meeting.

For our project for this month we will learn how to make a beaded bezel around a microscope slide. The theme for the slides are vintage Valentine postcards.
Slide size: 1 x 1.9 inches

Class fee: $5.00.

November 12th Meeting

We had our second Bead Society meeting at Planc Coffee & Tea.
Beverly Herman gave a demonstration on how to make your own earring wires using EZ Earring from Danrek Jewelry Supply. Everyone had a chance to make a pair of earring wires. Four more members found their way to the meeting. We were so glad to see them. Jean prepared two packages of Bead-Aid which were gifts from special friends on Beadtalk.

Jean sent a special thank you to Beadtalk telling them how much their generosity, kindness and caring has meant to us. If nothing else, Hurricane Katrina has made us realize even more that no matter how difficult the situation is, we are never alone because the human spirit is inextinguishable and friends you don't even know you have are ready to jump in to help.We will treasure your gifts. Thank you Jean for expressing our thanks with just right words.

We are looking for our members who have been relocated after the storm.
